Memorial Civil Air Patrol Cadets support Veterans

Memorial Middle School— Cadets of the Coastal Bend Cadet Squadron honored local military Veterans by conducting a drill team routine at Harrell Elementary and marching in the 2011 Kingsville Veteran’s Day Parade in Historic Downtown Kingsville.

“We are always honored,” said Major Joe Ely Carrales the cadet squadron commander, “especially when we can lend our support to such a noble cause.”

The unit marched from Memorial Middle School, where they are garrisoned, to Harrell Elementary in the morning school hours of Veteran’s Day. There they performed a prepared routine and Major Carrales played taps in honor of the fallen.

The H.M. King Army JROTC color guard presented the colors and the guest speaker was The Honorable Judge Juan Escobar who sang a corrido , Spanish language ballad, he wrote about a local WWII veteran, Cruz Mata, who passed away.

Additionally, the Cadets also marched in the Parade in downtown Kingsville fielding a color gaurd and read column. It was the first parade of the year.
