AFTER SCHOOL O-FLIGHTS- 26 March 2012

Kingsville. Texas- Cadets Tybie Davis and Micaela Irizarry had their first CIVIL AIR PATROL Orientation flights at Kleberg Co. Airport on Monday, 26 March 2012 under the guiding hand of Major Jerry Lunceford, Commander of the Corpus Christi Composite Squadron.

The cadets enjoyed themselves and found the minor demonstration fo NEGATIVE G's to be especially interesting.

"There is a lot of science in aviation," said Major J.E. Carrales, "I want to teach them so much and give them there experiments."

Cadets are currently scheduled to fly again on Wednesday, this time it will be a three cadets instead of 2.  The recent time changes allows and will eventually allow ever more afternoon O-Flights.

Cadet Davis was to take the FRONT SEAT first.

Cadets Irizarry and Davis examine a piece of "Charlie Papa's" equipment.  Fortunately, these will never need to be used on these O-Flights.

C/Amn M. Irizarry and Maj. Jerry Lunceford examine the aviation sectionals prior to their flights.

Cadet Irizarry jokingly "kisses the ground" at Alice International Airport.

Cadet Davis and Irizarry take some time to recover the use of their "ground legs" after an hour in the air.  This was their first ride in an aircraft of this type.
