April Activities coming to Fruition

Kingsville, Texas-  The Coastal Bend Cadet Squadron continued its preparations for its April activities with color guard practices and work on its Field Activity Deployment drills.   Members of the Alpha and Bravo Fights were very busy this week improving communications equipment and UDF skills.

CONGRATS to BRAVO FLIGHT: APRIL WEEK II FLIGHT OF THE WEEK

Colors Element- C/SSgt Savahanna Jimenez has done an excellent job in preparing the squadron color guard for the activity at What-a-burger Field in Corpus Christi, Texas.  This will be one of the highest profile events any Coastal Bend Squadron has presented the colors for in the history of both units.

The Color Guard has been honing its skills and will represent CAP to the Corpus Christi Hooks baseball organization.  This will in itself be a practice for the Beach-to-bay Activity where a joint Coastal Bend Cadet/Corpus Christi Composite Squadron color guard will present the colors at that activity.

COMM TOWER- A 30 ft COMM tower will be designed by the Bravo Flight.  The First 10ft have been designed and set up using rope and 2 in PVC pipe.  The second 10 ft will be erected next week.  It is hoped that a CAP radio can be allocated to test the integrity of the tower once it is totally set up.

The towers, including the 12.5 foot flag mast uses as a training device, are to be painted green and stored as a kit for use at SARex activities.

"We will design and place several of these kits across our part of GROUP V," said Major Carrales, " maybe we can have a mobile system that can better service CAP via communications.  We will try to set up a Ground Sortie at a future SARex to set up these antennas.
