Corpus Christi Comp SQD & Coastal Bend Cadets meet Jointly

Corpus Christi International Airport- Cadets from the Coastal Bend Cadet Squadron traveled via CAP VAN from CAP-STATION KINGSVILLE to CAP STATION CORPUS CHRISTI on 5 April 2011to continue practicing for the BUC DAYS PARADE that will be held on 30 April 2011.

The cadets departed immediately following the regular meeting of the Coastal Bend Cadet Squadron at 1755L hrs and arrived at Corpus Christi International Airport at 1817L hrs.

Major Carrales was the driver ferrying Cadets M. Spencer, E. Silguero, S. Jimenez, J. Vela, J Cardec, R. Gonzalez, and S. Del Valle.

Upon arrival, the group listened to a presentation from one Mr. Rocha, of the U.S. Naval Academy, who gave a presentation on admittance procedures for the assembled cadets of both units.

Additionally, it was also a meeting night for the entire Composite Squadron and Senior Members retired to the upstairs area for the conduct of their mission.

Cadets then were able to parctice drill for familiarization purposes.

"The idea," said Major Carrales, "is to get them used to drilling together, examine and correct spacing issues and move as a coordinated unit."

Cadets also practiced with some Drill Rifles in preparation for color guard activities.
